We help bring customers to the marketplace at a low cost and high volume.

Our Mission

Savvy consumers with discriminating tastes demand a quality of life that only a select handful of global manufacturers can sustainably support with the goods they offer.

The world’s best brands, corporations and aspiring entrepreneurs alike all want access to these manufacturers and their goods.

Metropolitan Imports has business relationships with these manufacturers and access to their goods in the Asia-Pacific region, including strategically beneficial ones in Japan and the emerging market in Southeast Asia that is Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is on the move.

Industries thriving in it include the textile industry, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, the steel industry, electronics, energy, the construction industry, chemicals, ceramics, food processing, and leather goods.

Export-oriented industrialization in Bangladesh has increased in recent years, with the country’s exports amounting to US$30 billion in FY2014-15.  So it should come as no surprise that Bangladesh’s garment industry is valued at 26 billion, or that Bangladesh ranks behind only China as a supplier of clothes to developed markets like Europe and the United States.

Our clients need high end products and services at prices that they can scale appropriately for profit in markets around the world.

Working with Metropolitan Imports in Bangladesh and Japan will help you support the quality of life demands your customer base requires, while not compromising quality and enjoying profitability for your business.

Our South Florida Base.

With our South Florida base, we are well suited to serve the United States as well as South America and the Caribbean Islands.  Port Everglades and Port of Miami are in the top 10 ports in the United States.  With new modernization and technology added to these ports, it makes South Florida a premier port destination for products entering the United States from Bangladesh and Japan.  Port Everglades has widened and deepened its channels to handle fully loaded ships of the current generation and even larger ships that access the port.  Florida’s Governor Rick Scott asked the Department of transportation to allocate $77 million to the Port of Miami to deepen the channel to minus 50 feet so larger ships can access the port.   The Panama Canal expansion has officially opened and attracting more inbound vessel calls to the east and gulf ports.  Having this only makes the South Florida ports more appealing for US International trade.

Florida’s agile transportation network sets the standard for efficiency. With one of the most extensive multi-modal infrastructures in the world, Florida can move your people, products and ideas anywhere fast.  With 15 deepwater ports, including a super post-Panamax port, Florida will open up a whole new world for business.

Florida’s agile transportation network sets the standard for efficiency. With one of the most extensive multi-modal infrastructures in the world.

More than $153 billion of merchandise trade value flows through Florida’s airports and seaports each year, solidifying Florida’s status as one of the world’s leaders in international trade.  Facts like this make it appealing for Metropolitan Imports to do business based in South Florida.

Profitability in these markets is expected to be excellent, especially in the import section.

Corporate ethics.

Wi’th international business spreading globally, multinational corporations will ’tend ’to wan’t ’to outsource production to poorer nations in order to cut costs.  Many ’times ’this has created controversial situations across the world, in which business ethics are skirted around and violated. While this system of co-dependent countries will always exist as long as there are inequalities between currencies, cost of living and labor wages, there are lines that international businesses must never cross. Crossing these lines can easily destroy your company.  Working wi’th Me’tropoli’tan Impor’ts, our manufac’turing par’tners adhere ’to all in’terna’tional laws.  We have ’transparency wi’th all of our fac’tory consor’tum par’tners.

There have been endless cases of ethical violations in which environments were irreparably damaged, lives were lost, and businesses were dismantled by regulators. Violating ethics can cost your company customers and investors, and ultimately your business.  Wi’th Me’tropoli’tan Impor’ts, we ve’t all of our par’tners and have con’tinuous quali’ty con’trol checks and balances.
